Laiwu premium products market brings a fresh experience in agriculture–culture–tourism integration
From the impressive debut of the “ginger king” to the aroma of specialty agricultural products and lively intangible cultural heritage experiences, the 12th China–Jinan (Laiwu) International Ginger Industry Expo kicked off in grand style at Daming Lake. As part of the event, the Laiwu Premium Products Market introduced an immersive and consumer-oriented promotional campaign that quickly became a must-visit “early-winter special” for residents and tourists alike, showcasing the industrial strength and cultural charm of China’s “hometown of ginger” in new and vibrant ways.
This year’s market closely aligns with the expo theme “Laiwu ginger for better health,” creating a dynamic space on the natural stage plaza on the north bank of Daming Lake where visitors can browse, taste, play, shop, and learn. Sixty-five booths were set up, featuring 54 selected enterprises from 15 subdistricts and towns across Laiwu. Visitors could find traditional favorites such as Taishunzhai marinated meat, Laiwu sausages, and Shandong dry-roasted goods; deeply processed products including black garlic, ginger tea, and ginger essential oil; as well as green agricultural products like Mingli vegetables and Shannong crisp pears. One visitor shared that the market offered not only specialty products but also a genuine sense of local culture.
Beyond product displays, the market placed strong emphasis on interactive experiences. In the intangible cultural heritage zone, local heritage items—including swallow-stone carving, tin engraving from the Luwang workshop, and dough figurines—were showcased, with inheritors demonstrating their exquisite craftsmanship on site. Visitors were able to appreciate these traditional arts up close. Meanwhile, ginger tasting, ginger-product DIY, and creative check-in activities added fun and surprises to the shopping experience.
The Laiwu Premium Products Market is an important initiative for promoting the integration of agriculture with culture and tourism. By building an offline display platform, it allows visitors to experience the quality of Laiwu’s agricultural products up close while helping enterprises expand their sales channels. Moving forward, Laiwu will use this year’s ginger expo as an opportunity to further advance agriculture–culture–tourism integration, strengthen the “Laiwu Premium” brand, and support local agricultural products in reaching markets across China and beyond—injecting lasting momentum into rural industrial revitalization.
