"Foster Friendship Through Writing, Gather the World Through Painting" 2025 Jinan International Sister City Youth Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Held in Jinan

On November 21st, the "2025 Jinan International Sister City Youth Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" kicked off at Jinan Youth Palace.

This exhibition themed "Foster Friendship Through Writing, Gather the World Through Painting", aiming to deepen exchanges and cooperation among international sister cities and build a distinctive international exchange brand for Jinan. It is co-sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee and the Foreign Affairs Office of Jinan Municipal People's Government, co-organized by Jinan Communist Youth League and Jinan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and organized by Jinan Youth Palace. Mao Shengnin, Consul General for Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Jinan, representatives of international students from sister cities, and representatives of Jinan Citizen Inspection Group attended the opening ceremony.

Since the launch of the call for works, it has received positive responses from Jinan's international sister cities including Cambodia, Finland, and South Korea, with nearly 100 calligraphy and painting works submitted by young people from various countries. Jinan Communist Youth League, Jinan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Jinan Youth Palace organized local young people to actively participate, contributing more than 80 works. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between Jinan and Siem Reap Province of Cambodia, and a special painting exhibition area celebrating this milestone has been set up for the event. Experts organized by Jinan Youth Palace evaluated the exhibits, selecting 10 Gold Award winners, 20 Silver Award winners and 41 Bronze Award winners.

The exhibition is not only an important measure to deepen cultural exchanges between Jinan and its international sister cities, but also a bridge for artistic exchange and spiritual communication among young people from all over the world. It encourages Jinan's young people to broaden their international horizons, cultivate confidence in artistic aesthetics, and enhance communication skills, promoting cultural integration between Jinan and its sister cities and connecting more young hearts. The event has built a new platform for Jinan to give play to the role of international sister cities and injected new vitality into the development of non-governmental diplomacy in Jinan.  (Li Yifan)
