Deepening International Exchange, Promoting Nursing Development: Shinawatra University Visits Jinan Vocational College of Nursing
On the afternoon of 5 March 2026, a delegation from Shinawatra University of Thailand, led by Vice President and Dean of the School of Nursing Nualyai Pitsachart, and Associate Dean for Marketing and International Relations Kwanta Boonvas, visited Jinan Vocational College of Nursing. The two sides held a symposium in Room 220 of Zhenhua Building, engaging in in-depth discussions on nursing education development, joint talent cultivation, and international academic exchange. Liu Yang, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Zhang Taoyan, Head of the Nursing Department, along with key faculty members involved in cooperative nursing programmes, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Liu Yang.
Prior to the symposium, the visiting delegation toured the nursing training laboratories in Zhenhua Building, gaining firsthand insight into the college’s practical teaching system and training facilities. They spoke highly of the institution’s distinctive strengths in nursing education and its well-developed practical training infrastructure.
At the symposium, Liu Yang extended a warm welcome to Vice President Nualyai Pitsachart and her delegation, and provided a comprehensive overview of the college’s institutional positioning, programme development, faculty strength, and international cooperation. She placed particular emphasis on the advantages and achievements of the nursing programme in talent cultivation.
Liu noted that China and Thailand share broad prospects for cooperation in nursing education and healthcare. She expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to establish a sustained partnership with Shinawatra University, deepening collaboration in areas such as joint training of nursing professionals, faculty and student exchanges, and the sharing of teaching resources, thereby jointly advancing the internationalisation of nursing education.


Vice President Nualyai Pitsachart expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the distinctive features of Shinawatra University, including the academic structure of its School of Nursing and its international cooperation initiatives. She noted that Jinan Vocational College of Nursing’s experience and achievements in nursing education are highly valuable, and expressed her hope that both sides could use nursing as a link to further refine cooperation, explore practical collaboration models, and achieve complementary strengths and mutual benefit—contributing to the cultivation of nursing talent and the development of the healthcare sector in both China and Thailand.
During the discussions, the two sides explored differences in curriculum design for joint nursing programmes, including course content, credit systems, and practical training hours. They reached preliminary consensus on faculty and student exchange initiatives, and also engaged in in-depth discussions on research collaboration, identifying potential areas such as joint research projects and co-authored academic publications. In addition, both parties exchanged views on aligning nursing curricula, mutually recognising talent training standards, and implementing international exchange programmes, reaching broad agreement on multiple fronts.
At the conclusion of the symposium, the two sides exchanged gifts, adding a warm and cordial touch to the visit. The delegation from Shinawatra University has provided Jinan Vocational College of Nursing with a new platform for international exchange and cooperation, helping to further enhance the globalisation of its nursing education and promote the high-quality development of its nursing and healthcare-related programmes.
